Silver tin Oxide (AgSnO2) based contacts since their introduction are looked upon as potential replacement for AgCdO. The Low Voltage Electrical Contacts AgSnO2 contacts have seen continued improvisation, with respect to their applicability and performance, by enhancement in their fine microstructure.
Electrical Contact Welding are increasingly dominating the market for medium and high current contact relays because of their low arc erosion. Besides the base oxide SnO2 embedded in the Ag matrix, these materials may or may- not contain additives like Bi2O3, CuO, In2O3 in a combination of varying amounts not exceeding 2%. The Brazing Electrical Contacts are manufactured by powder metallurgy (powder blending, compaction and sintering) followed by extrusion/ drawing/ rolling to the final dimensions.
According to the weak electric contact theory, the Silver Contact Welding resistance of Welding Component is composed of shrinkage resistance and surface film resistance. The shrinkage resistance depends on the resistivity of the material itself and the contact area. According to calculations, the shrinkage resistance is inversely proportional to the number of Welded Silver Contact Tips surfaces, that is, the more the number of Welded Electrical Contact surfaces, the larger the area, and the smaller the shrinkage resistance value. The surface film resistance is related to the surface state of the Brazing Silver Contacts to Copper Bars. When the Resistance welding Contacts pressure is small, the membrane resistance dominates, and when the pressure is high, the beam resistance is dominant.
The Contact Tip Welding resistance value of the silver contacts under different pressures. As the pressure increases, the contact area between the Welding Electrical Contact and the silver plate continues to increase, and the contact resistance between the silver contacts should gradually decrease. The effect of pressure on the resistance of Electrical Contact Resistance Brazing: As the pressure continues to increase, the resistance value decreases in a fast and then slow manner: when the pressure increases from 10 N to 200 N, the resistance decreases linearly, and then the decline slows down. When the pressure reaches 1 kN or more, it gradually stabilizes, and when the pressure is 1.4 to 2.0 kN, there is basically no change in the Low Voltage Electrical Contacts resistance. Therefore, in order to obtain a more accurate Brazed Electrical Contacts resistance value, it should be measured at a pressure of >1.5 kN. Comparing the steady-state resistance values of Brazed Electrical Contacts with different brazing rates, it can be found that the resistance decreases as the brazing rate of Contacts Metals Welding increases, that is, the larger the soldered area, the better the conductivity of the silver contacts.
