Advantages of Nickel Plating Contacts:

1-Solid copper contacts or composite silver contacts can enhance oxidation resistance after nickel plating;

2-Used as a substitute for gold plating because the cost is low;

3-Suitable for needs of approximately 100 or less extractions with maximum contact resistance of approximately 10mΩ because tin plating is soft. Since nickel plating is moderately hard, dull plating and semigloss nickel plating are used;

4-Nickel Plated Electrical Contacts retain the advantages of low resistivity, good electrical conductivity, and no arcing of pure silver. At the same time, it has the advantages of high temperature resistance, non-wear and oxidation resistance of the alloy.

In electroless nickel plating, a nickel coating is deposited on a surface using a controlled chemical process, or ‘reduction’, which is not based on an applied current. This is why electroless nickel coatings are extremely uniform, even when applied to items with a complex shape. The largest application of Nickel Electroplating Rivets are for hard disc drives for computers, while other examples are the metallising of plastics for electroplating, automotive brake cylinders, pumps, valves and other engineering products. Electroless nickel plating combines resistance to wear and corrosion with excellent adherence to all metals. This includes metals such as aluminium, which is increasingly important in the automotive and aerospace industry, due to its light weight.

The contact resistance of silver-nickel alloy electrical contacts is low and stable, electrical and thermal conductivity are good, and the burning loss is small, and the electrical wear is small and uniform. When the electrical contacts are opened and closed under DC, the material transfer of the electrical contacts is less than that of pure silver contacts. , It is especially suitable for on-off use in a narrow shell; but the silver-nickel alloy electrical contacts increase the contact resistance of the electrical contacts due to oxides during on-off. Nickel Plated Contacts Contact Rivets are sensitive to sulfur and have poor welding resistance under high currents. Silver-nickel electrical contacts are usually paired with silver-graphite electrical contacts. The silver-nickel alloy material contains a small amount of special additives, which obviously improves the welding resistance and electrical wear resistance of the material. Electroless Nickel Plating Rivets mainly used in high-load contacts in small enclosures, contact pieces used under DC; low-voltage medium and small current level contactors, instrument switches, light-controlled switches, relays, thermostats and timers of washing machines, etc.
